Re-Loving!  We can re-finish your old but favorite piece of furniture, & if some repairs are needed – no problem – we’ll repair it first. Bring the piece in, or a photo, & we’ll talk about the solution.

Of course all the finishing is done with FAT Paint (made in New Westminster).

If Debi isn’t in the store to help you then Roseanna will be.They love to talk art with our customers, can help with ideas & suggestions,

& are very talented themselves so they know of what they speak.

Barking Dog Studio is owned by Debi McKay & Randy Welters.

Debi is the personality of the store & the design/finishing expert for re-loving furniture.

She also has her own line of jewellery, Jewls West Jewellery,

featuring local Whiffin Spit sand in glass earings.

Randy spends most of his time in the shop building custom

furniture & yard furniture, & does custom repairs

& projects for customers.

We can also provide the ‘outside the box’ vision for painting/finishing,

using  FAT Paint (which is made in New Westminster).

“Reflecting Sooke’s Artistic Imagination”

At any one time we display around 60 – 95 local artists as well as our own works. Most of our artists are from the South Vancouver Island area, with a few from the mainland of British Columbia. We are proud to be the retail outlet for our local artists & being focused on such immense talent & imagination.

Where our Name Came From – The Dogs!

2 dogs

Dachshunds are talkative, energetic & noisey – everyone should know this. Molly & Gracie fit this to a T; hence our name. Now, we know there can be confusion whether we are a dog store, & we do make our own dog necklaces (okay collars), & we have locally made leashes & dog jewellery, but having a mother (Molly) & daughter (Gracie) team just seemed to dictate the name. The girls are in the store much of the time, but sometimes their energy levels get them a time-out to home.

Sooke Fine Arts Show
